Priyanka Chopra Misses Her Doctorate Felicitation Ceremony Due To Fog Lock Down

Global diva Priyanka Chopra has returned home and was jumping with joy after receiving a special news upon her arrival. The actress has achieved various milestones at the mere age of 35 and has many more feathers to add to her cap, the latest being the honour of doctorate degree by the Bareilly International University.

However, the actress missed her "special moment" due to the poor weather conditions in the national capital where she reached to attend an event as the Unicef Global Goodwill Ambassador a day before. Priyanka was supposed to mark her presence at her facilitation ceremony in Bareilly on Sunday, however, her tweets suggested that she missed it due to foggy skies.

Her mother, Madhu Chopra is immensely proud of her daughter and expressed, "It gives me immense joy and satisfaction, that Priyanka’s work for various social cause is being appreciated and Felicitated. She justifiably deserves it. May God  Bless her and give her the strength to do good for those who are less fortunate."

The actress issued an official statement apologising the University authorities for her absence and wished the graduates whom she was supposed to present degrees to, all the best for their future endeavours. Her earlier tweets suggested that she will miss the event which proved to be right. She also posted a selfie on Instagram stories decked up for the event with her mother and brother.

Keshav Kumar Agrawal, the university's chancellor was supposed to honour Priyanka with the degree in the presence of Union environment minister Harsh Vardhan and Uttar Pradesh finance minister Rajesh Agarwal. On the work front, PeeCee recently shot for the third season of her popular American show 'Quantico' and has two Hollywood films, 'A Kid Like Jake' and 'Isn't It Romantic?' in her kitty.
