Global icon Priyanka Chopra has made the entire world proud by lending support to uprooted Syrian refugee kids in Jordan as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Being the member of United Nation's program for past 12 years, the actress has worked with the organisation on various levels while contributing to their initiative of helping children globally.

Her initiative was recently honoured in form of Mother Teresa Memorial Award for Social Justice which the 'Quantico' star recently received for the compassion and kindness she showcased towards the unprivileged kids during her Jordan trip in September. Her vigilant attitude towards social causes has won over the Harmony Foundation, which invited the actress for receiving the award.

Priyanka seems to have followed the footsteps of the Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, Angelina Jolie who is among the very first celebrities to fight for the rights of refugees and displaced people. Due to the actress' busy schedule, her mother Dr Madhu Chopra collected the award and thanked the organisation on her behalf for honouring her daughter.

Thanking the jury, she said, "I humbly accept the award on her behalf. As a mother, I am immensely proud to have a child who is so compassionate and has so much kindness in her. She exemplifies the fact the more you give the more you get.  Even as a child, she was influenced by Mother Teresa and has been supporting Prem Niwas in Bareilly."

"It is justifiable for her to receive this honourable award and I am immensely proud of her. I’m thankful and I’m sure she is humbled that her efforts have been recognised by the foundation that believes in helping the needy and supporting the deprived and raising funds for those who are impoverished," she concluded.

Earlier this year, Madhu Chopra has clarified that Priyanka won't be able to take up Bollywood films anytime soon as she is busy in the shoot of her popular American show 'Quantico' along with two Hollywood films, 'A Kid Like Jake' and 'Isn't It Romantic?'. The rumour mills suggest that due to her Hollywood shenanigans, the actress might lose the third instalment of Farhan Akhtar's popular 'Don' series.
