'Path-Breaking Producer' Anushka Sharma To Receive Dadasaheb Phalke Award

The past year has been memorable for Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma for both the professional and personal reasons. Apart from tying the knot with Indian cricket team's skipper Virat Kohli, the young lady has touched multiple milestones as a producer as well.

Her production house Clean Slate Films, which she owns with her brother Karnesh Sharma has produced some path-breaking films like NH10, Phillauri and Pari belonging to distinctive genres- thriller, romance and horror respectively while promoting young talent.

For her brilliance as a producer at such a young age, the actress will be honoured by the Dadasaheb Phalke Foundation with the 'Path-Breaking Producer' award. Instead of playing around the cliché concepts, the actress-producer has dared to venture into unexplored fields.

Unlike what was expected, the films were able to pique audience's interest and won over the critics with their brilliant concepts. Apart from being the youngest producer, the actress has become a stepping stone for various aspiring directors, musicians, composers, technicians in Bollywood.

While most producers are afraid of backing the young individuals coming from non-filmy backgrounds, Anushka and her brother believed in their raw talent. She took the risk willingly proving her sharp eye for people's expertise.

On acting front, Anushka Sharma recently wrapped up the Delhi schedule of her upcoming film ‘Sui Dhaaga’ opposite Varun Dhawan. She is awaiting the release of Aanand L Rai’s ‘Zero’ also starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Her last release 'Pari' did a decent business on box-office.
