Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui was accused of spying on his wife in the CDR scandal, but Nawaz's wife herself came out in his defense. Nawaz's wife Aaliya has denied these allegations in a Facebook post. After Nawazuddin Siddiqui's explanation, Aaliya expressed surprise on the whole issue by writing a post on Facebook accompanied by a photo of both of them together.

Aaliya wrote that Nawazuddin has this flaw that he only speaks the truth. Aaliya wrote about her relationship with Nawaz saying “My and Nawaz’s relation is 15 years old since when Nawaz was nothing that he is now. The good thing that I have always enjoyed about Nawaz is that he has open thoughts.”

Aaliya further wrote, "I am from a Hindu Brahmin family, Nawaz is a Muslim, but there is no religion wall came between us ever. Nawaz never tried to impose on me of being from different religion and neither he imposed his religion on me. The same respects he gives to my religion as much as he believes in his religion and this is the foundation of the strong relationship between us. In the end, Aaliya wrote, "The truth of the new controversy linked to the CDR will soon come out in front of everyone, I would just say this much that the allegations made on Nawaz are completely false and baseless, he is just targeted for being a celebrity.”

Earlier, on the CDR case, Nawazuddin tweeted, "Yesterday evening, I was helping my daughter in making school projects, this project was of Hydroelectric Power Generator and this morning she went to her school for Project Exhibition. I am surprised that the media is raising the question of some unnecessarily taking me. "

Nawaz was accused of wrongly spying on his wife in the case of which Thane Police Mumbai has issued summons to him. This summons was about the recording of the CDR or call data, although till now Nawaz has not responded to the summons.
