Nawazuddin Siddiqui To Join The Cast Of Ranveer Singh Starrer '83': Reports

The talented actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui may soon be seen in the role of the coach in the upcoming Kabir Khan directorial '83' which chronicles the prestigious 1983 cricket World Cup victory for India, media reported on Tuesday.

Nawazuddin, who is currently playing a negative character in the web series titled Sacred Games is known for his unique movie choices and his stellar performance.

According to a media report in Mumbai Mirrior, Nawazuddin has been approached for the part of the winning team's coach. The actor has been in talks with the movie's team for a while now and is expected to be on board soon.

The movie also stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Ranveer will play the legendary Kapil Dev in the film. Singh had expressed his excitement to work on this project in an earlier interview and had said that it was an honour to tell the story of India's iconic win.

Ranveer's last movie was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavaat. The actor has a line up of movies, he is currently shooting for the movie Simmba opposite Sara Ali Khan, which is helmed by Rohit Shetty. Simmba is slated to release on December 28 this year. Ranveer will be seen as a bad cop in the movie. 

The film 83 is all set to hit the screens in August 2019, the movie might go on floors later this year. The casting is still on for the other central roles. The film will be shot at real locations.

Siddiqui had earlier worked with Kabir in the Salman Khan-starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan, essaying the role of a Pakistani journalist Chand Nawab. His character received immense love.
