Bollywood's Queen, Kangana Ranaut has been making headlines for her recent interview where she talked about certain 'Exes' and nepotism in the film industry. Many criticised her while others applauded her for the courage that she has shown.

At the recent Jagran Cinema Summit, Kangana opened up about being offered Salman Khan's superhit film, 'Sultan' which she turned down as it "wasn't offering much" to her. After working in films like 'Queen' and 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns', Ranaut wasn't willing to "demote" herself.

'Sultan' which was released in 2016 had Anushka Sharma opposite Salman Khan. Her portrayal of a strong woman was highly appreciated by the audience and it also became one of the most memorable roles of her life. Worldwide, the film earned over Rs. 584 crores.

According to Kangana, she has achieved a stage in Bollywood, where she doesn't need to work with any male superstar to get further work. Despite many speculations, she clarified that she means what she said.

Kangana was quoted, "Coming from a double role space and doing so much more in my earlier films, I didn't want to demote myself to something which wasn't offering me so much. That's why I didn't do it."

Being a critically acclaimed actress, Kangana feels that the seventh highest grossing Indian film was not interesting enough for her. Though, she did find the character subtle but couldn't see herself playing it.

While talking about her character in the film, she said, "With Jhansi Ki Rani, there was a fearless girl who set herself on fire for a cause. There is something so amazing about her, it's infectious. It makes you feel so small when you listen to her story."

The actress concluded by adding, "We are so possessive about these small achievements when people have let go of so much for a bigger cause. It does affect you. This character has shown me a side of me which I didn't know."
