Viewers have given a warm welcome to John Abraham and Diana Penty starrer 'Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran', which released on May 25. The film has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark, trade analysts said on Thursday. The film has gained pace in the second week, making a net total of Rs 50.55 crore at the box office.

Parmanu has crossed the overall collections of Ryan Reynolds starrer Deadpool 2 which did a business of Rs 48.18 crores in India.

As the movie has been winning hearts, and tickets counters are still ringing, it's expected that the film's box office collections will further rise. Popular film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the total collection as of Thursday, hailing the 'Content' based film.

After the delay caused by a lockdown between John's production banner JA Entertainment and KriArj Entertainment, the movie has maintained its steady pace at the box office. The movie is a true story based on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by the Indian Army at Pokhran in 1998, and is directed by Abhishek Sharma.

Despite having stiff competition with Veere Di Wedding, co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Shikha Talsania and Swara Bhasker, Parmanu continues to benefit and continues a good hold at the box office. The movie also lost business to the semi-final matches of IPL.
