Surrogacy has proved to be a boon for the unfortunate couples or single men and women. Earlier, an option which was usually frowned upon has now raised hopes for many to experience parenthood. Bollywood celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Tusshar Kapoor and Karan Johar are among the few renowned names who were able to embrace the distinctive feeling with an outsider's help.

While the celebrities saw this rising popularity of surrogacy as a way to have their own children, KriArj Entertainment took the opportunity to investigate the life and hardships faced by a surrogate through filmmaking. In their upcoming film, 'Jasmine', the makers will bring the "story of a leased womb" to the screens. Piquing the interests of viewers, the first poster of the film was released recently.

The story makers of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha—Siddharth and Garima will not just write 'Jasmine' but also make their directorial debut through the film. Co-produced by Prernaa Arora and Shree Narayan Singh, the film is yet to go on floors as the team is still looking for a leading lady. Based on the real-life story of a Gujarati woman, the inspiring film will be extensively shot in Gujarat and in Rajasthan's Pushkar.

Shree Narayan Singh had earlier said, "It is inspired by a real-life story of a woman in Gujarat who doesn’t want to have children but decides to become a surrogate mother for someone else. After a point, she gets attached to the child and wants the child back."

Speculations are high in the air suggesting that the producers are trying to get Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on board for the film. Producer Prernaa confirmed, "We would love to have her but it will depend on her dates." The actress is currently shooting for Atul Manjrekar's Fanne Khan along with Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao which is set to hit the theatres June 15, 2018.

Reports suggest Aishwarya has already signed her next to Prernaa's production house for the whopping sum of Rs.10 crore. The film will be the remake of Nargis Dutt’s 1968 film Raat Aur Din. If the former Miss World signs Jasmine, this will become her third film will the same production team in a row.
