Happy Birthday Akshay Kumar! Khiladi Of Bollywood Turns 51

An actor, producer, martial artist, stuntman and philanthropist, Bollywood's Khiladi Akshay Kumar, who turns 51 on Sunday, has appeared in more than 100 Hindi films in his over 25 year long acting career and has won several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Rustom.

From playing a patriotic hero to cracking mindless jokes, Bollywood's Khiladi Akshay Kumar has done it all. He started his journey from the secluded lanes of Chandni Chowk and went on to feature in a small role in Mahesh Bhatt’s 'Aaj'. The movie might not have performed well but his talent was not neglected.

He appeared as the lead actor in the 1991 film Saugandh before getting his big break with Abbas-Mustan’s 'Khiladi' and then after there was no turning back for this player. Khiladi Kumar is known for his fitness regime and the complete family man attitude.

Considered to be one of the most successful actors in the history of Indian cinema, Akshay's 2018 Independence Day release 'Gold' has officially joined the Rs 100 Crore Club on its 13th day in theatres, making it Akshay's 9th film to cross the Rs 100 box office earnings mark.

With 9 films crossing the Rs 100 crore mark, Akshay is now second only to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan who has 13 films in the Rs 100 Crore Club. At third rank is Ajay Devgn with 8 films crossing Rs 100 crore, while Shah Rukh Khan has only 7 Rs 100 crore films.

Akshay Kumar's earlier film's to make it to the coveted Rs 100 crore club are: the 2017 film 'Toilet – Ek Prem Katha' with Rs. 134.25 crore, 2017 film 'Jolly LLB 2' with Rs. 117 crore, 2016 film 'Airlift' with  Rs. 129 crore, 2016 film 'Rustom' with Rs. 128 crore, 2016 film 'Housefull 3' with Rs. 109 crore, 2014 film 'Holiday' with Rs. 113 crore, 2012 film 'Housefull 2' with Rs. 116 crore and 2012 film Rowdy Rathore with Rs. 133 crore.

He became the first Bollywood actor whose movies crossed the Rs 2000 crore mark in 2013 and the Rs 3000 crore mark in 2016.
