A conman, who made fake Facebook account posing as TV Queen Ekta Kapoor, have cheated an Andheri-based actor Anjali Badhoria of Rs 7 lakh.
The conman promised a role to Badhoria in one of Balaji Telefilms serials to extract money from her. The case came into limelight when the actor confirmed the same from company (Balaji) officials.
Anjali transferred the funds after the fraudster communicated with her over Facebook chat and calls.

According to reports, Additional commissioner of police (crime) K M M Prasanna confirmed a case has been registered under IPC sections for 419 (cheating by personation), 420 (cheating) and under the IT Act sections 66 (C) (identity theft) and 66 (D) (cheating by personation by using computer resource). Facebook has been asked to pull down the Kapoor fake page.
With the cases of cyber crime increasing day by day, this is not the first time that Bollywood and TV industry have faced such issues. Earlier, Salman Khan
filed a case when a fake Facebook account was made in his name, where the fraudster was asking people to contact his manager to be a part of his news film.
