For the second consecutive year, Bollywood's Bhaijaan Salman Khan has topped the Forbes annual list of top 100 Indian celebrities. Despite many new and surprising entries in the list, Dabangg Khan was able to maintain his position followed by Shah Rukh Khan and Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

The annual list estimates the celebrity position on the basis of their entertainment-related earnings and Salman outdid the other celebrities with his whopping revenue of Rs 232.83 crore in 2017. If compared to his last year's earnings of Rs 270.33 crore, the actor's revenue has dropped but still the best.

Shah Rukh Khan earned the 2nd spot on the list with his grossing income of Rs 170.5 crore, courtesy the release of 'Raees' and 'Jab Harry Met Sejal'. Virat Kohli's presence on the 3rd spot surprised didn't surprise many as a Duff & Phelps report claims that the Indian skipper is the most valuable celebrity brand in India, which earned him Rs 100.72 crore this year.

Despite the decline in the top three celebrities' cumulative earnings by almost 20 percent, they maintained their spots in the celebrity list. Global diva Priyanka Chopra was the only female celebrity to land a position in top 10 with income of Rs 68 crore, followed by Deepika Padukone and PV Sindhu at number 11 and 17 respectively.

'Dangal' star Aamir Khan had to be satisfied at 6th position with the income of Rs 68.75 crore whereas the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni dropped from his last year's position to number eight. Khiladi Kumar retained his position at number 4 while Sachin Tendulkar jumped to 5th position with his Rs 82.50 crore revenue.

Surprisingly, despite his film's failure at the box office and television show going off-air,  the king of comedy Kapil Sharma also claimed his position in the list at number 18 spot with Rs 48 crore earnings. To ascertain the positions and figures, Forbes India took independent estimates from industry insiders, talent management agencies, film and TV production companies among other relevant experts.
