Has the Delete Facebook movement reached Bollywood too? Farhan Akhtar on Tuesday announced the deletion of his Personal Facebook Account. However, his verified Facebook page is still active.

Facebook is facing worldwide criticism over the claims that Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign by Cambridge Analytica, harvested and misused data from more than 50 million users.

The Silicon Valley-based company has 2 billion monthly active users currently and after this global outrage the social media company has suffered a loss of USD 50 billion in market value.

Farhan has become the latest Indian celebrity to quit the social networking site in the wake of the Facebook data misuse row.

Farhan took to his official Twitter handle on Tuesday morning and wrote, “Good morning. This is to inform you all that I have permanently deleted my personal Facebook account. However, the verified FarhanAkhtarLive page is still active”.

Though he hasn't revealed the exact reason behind this move and we cannot say this move as a part of the delete Facebook movement because Farhan's verified Facebook Page is still active.
