Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmavat', originally titled Padmavati, has gone through various controversies in the past days. However, after battling all the odds, the period drama has finally found a release date.

As anticipated by many media reports, the film will hit the theatres on January 25 with the runtime of 2 hours and 43 minutes, clashing with Akshay Kumar's ambitious film, PadMan. Trade analyst and film critic, Taran Adarsh took the official announcement to Twitter.

The film was recently granted a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification after the makers incorporated the suggested changes in Padmavat. The entire nation was waiting for the film's release with bated breathe.

Ever since the film received clearance from the censor board, many reports suggesting that the film might clash with Akshay's PadMan were making rounds and the latest confirmation suggests the biggest box-office battle with the two potential dramas.

With no intention of clashing with a big-budget film like Padmavat, Neeraj Pandey's 'Aiyaary' has been pushed ahead to February 9. The Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpai starrer take inspiration from a real-life story with two strong-minded army officers clashing for the sake of their beliefs.

Padmavat stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles. The story revolves around the queen Padmini of Chittore, her husband Rawal Ratan Singh and the adversities they face while fighting the tyrant ruler Alauddin Khilji.
