Anupam-Akshaye Starrer 'The Accidental Prime Minister'' Trailer Launches Today

Anupam Kher is ready with his next big film titled 'The Accidental Prime Minister'. The trailer of the same was launched by the makers of the movie on Thursday.

The film chronicles the life of politician-economist Dr.Manmohan Singh who served as India’s PM from 2004-2014.

It stars Anupam Kher as Manmohan Singh and Akshaye Khanna as Sanjaya Baru, who served as Singh’s media advisor and chief spokesperson.

Also, German actor Suzanne Bernert as former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Ahana Kumra as Priyanka Gandhi and Arjun Mathur as Rahul Gandhi.

Anupam’s performance in the trailer was bang on. From perfecting the pauses to effortlessly pulling off his dialogues Kher sewed the intricacies of the character together with a proper focus on detailing.

The trailer describes the story from the point of view of Sanjaya Baru. It started off with Dr. Singh being appointed as the Prime Minister by UPA chairperson and then Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi, followed by his swearing-in ceremony.

However, it soon becomes clear that he is not as much in command as he had thought.

The film delves deep into the internal politics of the Congress party and how Manmohan Singh found himself in the middle of it.

Anupam Kher shared a hilarious video of her mother a few hours ago in which he showed her the poster of his movie and his mother did not recognize him.

Based on Sanjay Baru’s memoir of the same name that was released in 2014 the film is Directed by debutant Vijay Ratnakar Gutte and written by Hansal Mehta.

The film is slated to release on January 25 and fans can't help but wait to see the biographical film.
