Sriram Raghavan of Badlapur and Johnny Gaddar fame is back with another gritty thriller 'AndhaDhun' the trailer of which was released on Sunday.

The trailer introduces the characters of the film, Ayushmann Khurrana who plays the role of a talented blind pianist, the 'love of his life' played by Radhika Apte and Tabu 'the woman who would change his life forever'.

Ayushmann plays the piano for Tabu at her home, and soon after a murder takes place, trapping Ayushmann into the murder mystery, despite him being blind.

The film was earlier titled as 'Shoot the Piano Player', however the makers did not want an English title so changed it to 'AndhaDhun'.

Writer-director of the film Sriram Raghavan praised Ayushmann's piano playing skills in an earlier statement.

"Ayushmann is a musician himself but he trained rigorously and that worked in our favour as we didn’t have to hire a body double for the finger shots on the piano or even use any kind of VFX. In fact, he plays some fantastic pieces in the film which have been brilliantly composed by Amit," Raghavan had said.

Ayushmann previously had earlier that it was necessary to be a spontaneous actor to wrok the Raghavan.

“Every film is a learning experience even if it’s from the same genre but this particular film… Sriram Raghavan is a very organic director. He will give you a situation, a milieu and you will react to that. I have done theatre in the past so, I am used to improvisations. It’s very challenging for an actor because it’s not on paper. You have to be on your toes every day and be impromptu. A non-actor cannot work with him for sure. You have to be a good actor or a spontaneous actor to work with a Sriram Raghavan,” Ayushmann had said.

While Radhika Apte was last seen in PadMan earlier this year opposite Akshay Kumar, AndhaDhun is Ayushmann Khurrana's first film of the year as he was last seen in Shubh Mangal Savdhan opposite Bhumi Pednekar last year.

The film also stars Anil Dhawan, Manav Vij, Chhaya Kadam, Zakir Hussain and Ashwini Kalsekar and is scheduled to release on October 5.
