Amaal Mallik On #Metoo Accusations Against Uncle Anu Malik ' He Is Not Family For Me'

Recently, the #MeToo wave took the Bollywood industry by storm and many renowned names came under scanner in this movement, singer and composer Anu Malik’s name was one of them.

After many women accused him of sexual misconduct he had to step down as the judge from the music reality show, Indian Idol. Singers Sona Mohapatra and Shweta Pandit were among the women who accused Anu of sexual misconduct.

Now, singer Amaal Malik, who is one the family members of Anu Malik, has come out in open and spoken about the allegations against him.

Amaal Mallik in an interview said, "When it happened, it was obviously a little humiliating. But, more importantly, I would like to say that my family is first my four people. Beyond that, I don’t count anyone as a family. Unki apni family hai (he has his own family) and it was a tough time for them".

Talking further about the #MeToo movement which created a revolution in the entertainment industry, Amaal said, "I support the movement and I'm completely with it. What happens is, when people talk on social media, it goes a little wrong."

"When you have alleged someone and taken their name, you should drag it to the court and through the judicial system, try to achieve what you want to achieve. Because if you don't take it ahead then why did you even do this in the first place."

Amaal added that he was close to Mohapatra and that if she had accused Malik, there must be a reason behind it. He said, "I’m close to Sona Mohapatra, if she has said about Anu Malik, there must be a reason. And if there is a reason they should move to the court."
