Alia Bhatt Releases The Teaser Of 'Sadak 2' On Mahesh Bhatt's 70th Birthday

Alia Bhatt announced the sequel of  Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt starrer 1991 super hit film Sadak on the occasion of Mahesh Bhatt's 70th birthday on Thursday.

She posted a teaser of Sadak 2 on her Twitter account and introduced the lead cast of the film which includes Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Alia herself.

The post had put a full stop to the rumours that were going on for a long time. With Sadak 2 Mahesh Bhatt will make a comeback as a director after a long gap of over 19 years. The last film he directed was Sanjay Dutt starrer Kartoos.

Pooja Bhatt who was a popular actress of her time is also going to return to the big screen after almost two decades. She has worked with her father Mahesh Bhatt in films like Daddy, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin, Sir, Zakhm, etc.

According to the media reports, on returning to the director’s chair, Mahesh Bhatt said, “Like the spider gets its thread from his own guts. The narrative of Sadak 2 is pulled out of my lived life. It’s a film about living, loving and dealing with the anguish of the loss of a loved one.” It would be the first time that Mahesh Bhatt will be directing Alia.

Sanjay Dutt and Mahesh Bhatt have given some of the most iconic films to the Bollywood Industry such as Naam, Sadak, Gumrah etc. Sanjay Dutt also took to his twitter account and shared a clip of Sadak 2 and wished him a very Happy Birthday.

Co- Owner of Vishesh Films and Mahesh Bhatt’s brother Mukesh Bhatt while speaking to a daily newspaper said, “Though I have made so many films in the 32 years of Vishesh Films, Sadak has a very special place in my heart because it’s one of the most iconic hits of my career. My gladiator Mahesh Bhatt is back to perform in the arena once again. Sanjay Dutt and he have a magical past and they share a bond which is beyond professional understanding. “

Bhatt further added,”With Alia coming on board, Pooja being there and my daughter Sakshi, who is the co-producer of the film – The three sisters will be seen performing important roles. I feel it is a very emotional moment for me to see this happening. Sadak is not just a project for me, it is very close to my heart. I know this journey will be the most fulfilling experience that I have had in so many years as a filmmaker and I am looking forward to it.”

After 29 years of the first movie, Sadak 2 is scheduled to hit the theatres on March 25, 2020.
