Akshay Kumar To Play Prithviraj Chauhan In His Upcoming Flick

Gold star Akshay Kumar has signed yet another film and will be teaming up with Aditya Chopra's production house next year. The actor will be seen essaying the role of Prithviraj Chauhan, the last ruler of the Chahamana (Chauhan) dynasty, in the upcoming film, which will showcase the love story of Prithviraj and Sanyukta. Their story is considered to one of the most popular medieval romances. The yet-to-be-titled film will be directed by 'Chanakya' fame Chandraprakash Dwivedi. 

Prithviraj Chauhan was an Indian king from the Chauhan dynasty, who ruled the Delhi region of north-western India. He is best remembered for his battle against Muhammad of Ghori (in modern-day Afghanistan) in 1191-92 AD, called the Second battle of Tarain.

Once Akshay completes Hera Pehri 3, the project will likely go on the floors in mid-2019. It will mark Akshay's return to YRF camp after a gap of 11 years. Akshay last teamed up with YRF in Tashan which also starred Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Anil Kapoor in 2008.

Akshay's patriotic film Gold co-starring with Mouni Roy will hit the theatres on Independence Day. The teaser of the movie has created quite a buzz in the audience. Its official trailer will be released on June 25.  

In Kesari, Akshay is playing a Sikh Warrior. The movie is a war drama based on the battle of Saragarhi in which army of 21 Sikhs fought against the Afghans in 1897.
