Ajay Devgn Confirms ‘Total Dhamaal’ Will Not Release In Pakistan After Pulwama Attack

Actor-producer Ajay Devgn announced on Monday that his forthcoming film Total Dhamaal will not release in Pakistan. The decision comes after the Pulwama terror attack that claimed the lives of 49 CRPF troopers last week.

Actor Ajay Devgn confirmed the news by tweeting on his Twitter account and said “in light of the current situation the team” of his new film has collectively made the decision not to “release the film in Pakistan.”

After the terror attack, the diplomatic situation is very delicate and there is a sense of anger in the country. On February 14, a suicide bomber of the militant outfit, Jaish-E-Mohammad rammed a car on a convoy carrying CRPF jawans. It was laden with hundreds of kilos of explosives. Around 48 of our brave soldiers lost their lives.

The team of Total Dhamaal also donated an amount of Rs 50 lakh to the soldiers’ families. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has also called for a blanket ban on Pakistani artistes in India. Even T-Series has pulled down all Pakistani songs from their YouTube channel.

The decision has met with appreciation with many people supporting the film’s team on Twitter. Total Dhamaal is slated to hit the screens this week, on February 22. Apart from Ajay, it also features Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, Jaaved Jaffrey, Johny Lever, and Sanjay Mishra among others. It’s the third part in the popular Dhamaal franchise by director Indra Kumar.
