With just a week away from her first production PadMan's release, Twinkle Khanna came up with the "Padman Challenge" asking people to pose with Sanitary napkin in hand. Not the one to back down of such challenges, Mr Perfectionist, Aamir Khan became the very first person who dared to take it up.

The actor took a photo of himself holding a sanitary napkin to his Twitter account. Happily flaunting the pad, the 'Dangal' star wrote, "Thank You @mrsfunnybones. Yes, that's a pad in my hand an there's nothing to be ashamed about. It's natural! Period. #PadManChallenge. Copy, Paste this and challenge your friends to take a photo with a Pad. Here I am challenging @SrBachchan, @iamsrk and @BeingSalmanKhan."

Aamir Khan not only took part in this awareness initiative but also passed on the challenge to other big names of Bollywood industry. Well, the challenge is slowly picking up and is on its way to becoming a rage on the internet.

The inspiration behind PadMan, Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social entrepreneur who invented the machine for manufacturing low-cost sanitary pads, initiated this #PadmanChallenge on social media. With his photo, he tagged cast of the film, Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor and producer Twinkle Khanna to do the same.

Later on, taking up the challenge, Twinkle Khanna, Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte, Shabana Azmi and Alia Bhatt had posted their photos on social media with a sanitary pad in their hands and tagged other peoples to forward the challenge.

With PadMan, Akshay and Twinkle wish to break the taboo about menstruation in the country and spread awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene. The film was earlier scheduled to release on January 25 but later on, it's release was rescheduled to February 9 fir allowing Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat to enjoy a single film release.
