Under immense pressure, Sony TV, the channel that telecasts the Kapil Sharma show, replaced Sidhu with Archana Puran Singh.

Kapil Sharma, the show’s host, finally spoke up on the matter on Monday at an event in Chandigarh. The comedian cited “prior commitments” as the reason for Sidhu’s absence from the show.

Reacting to the controversy surrounding Sidhu and his alleged sacking from The Kapil Sharma Show, Kapil said, “These are very small things, or can also be a part of propaganda. I feel banning someone or sacking Navjot Singh Sidhu from the show is not the solution. We need to look for a permanent solution.”

On the Pulwama terror attack, Kapil said, “We are with the government but still, we need a permanent solution. The cowardly act in Pulwama that killed our soldiers shouldn’t be forgotten and the culprits should be punished.”

Kapil's comments have irked thousands of social media users who now want the viewers to unsubscribe Sony channel, in which his show is currently airing on, and boycott the actor-comedian.

The attack, that took place on Thursday, resulted in the killing of more than 40 CRPF jawans. It was perpetrated by Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-E-Mohammed.

Earlier, the cricketer-turned-politician, who was among the invitees for the swearing-in ceremony of Imran Khan as Pakistan Prime Minister last year, however, posed, "For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual?"
