Meghna Srivastava Tops CBSE 12th Board With An Aggregate Of 99.8%

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class 12 results this afternoon. Meghna Srivastava from Uttar Pradesh's Noida - an Arts student who scored 499 marks out of 500 in the board exams has emerged as the national topper.

Meghna Srivastava scored full marks in History, Geography, Psychology, Economics and missed the century in Core English by just one marks. Meghna has surpassed the CBSE topper from last year Raksha Gopal who scored 99.6% in the 12th board exams whereas Meghna Srivastava has scored an aggregate of 99.8% marks.

After the declaration of results, Meghana said "I am happy, never expected this... Class XII is all about consistency. Also, do not stress over boards." She added, "There is no secret, have to just work hard, be consistent. You just have to study throughout the year," 

The second topper, Anoushka Chandra who is also from Uttar Pradesh, is just one mark behind with the 498 score and the third position is shared by the seven students who all have secured 497 marks. The third toppers list includes Chahat Bodhraj, Astha Bamba, Tanuja Kapri, Supriya Kaushik, Nakul Gupta, Kshitij Anand, and Ananya Singh.

The pass percentage in all over India is 83.01 in which, girls have outshined boys as the overall passing percentage of girls is 88.31 as compared to boys whose passing percentage is 78.09. Last year, the boys had performed better. 

This year the passing percentage is one percent more than the last year’s passing percentage and the top three regions are Trivandrum with 97.32 percent, Chennai with 93.87 percent and Delhi with 89.

The result of class 12th was declared on the official website of the board -- CBSE.results.nic.in or cbse.nic.in. Now that the Class 12 result is declared, the Class 10 result is expected to be announced very soon.
