After CBSE Paper Leaks, HRD Ministry Forms Committee To Study Class 10/12 Examination Process

The Ministry of Human Recourses Development has constituted a High Powered Committee to examine the process of conducting exams of Class X and Class XII, media reported on Thursday. The move has been taken with an aim of preventing leakages of question papers of exams.

As per reports, the 7-member committee will be chaired by Retired Secretary (Higher Education) of MHRD Vinay Sheel Oberoi.

The main job of this committee would be to revisit all aspects related to the security checks built into the system for ensuring that the question papers reach the examinees without any tampering.

The committee would also analyse and assess all areas of potential weaknesses in the present system of transporting question papers from the printing presses to the exam centres.  

After checking the entire process, the committee will suggest ways to make the system more secure with the use of technology and minimizing of human intervention. 

Ministry has formed this committee following the unfortunate incident of Central Board of Secondary Education paper leak in which class XII Economics and class X Mathematics paper had been leaked by an inter-state racket last month.

The CBSE had initially announced a re-examination for Class 12th Economics and Class 10th Mathematics paper which brought the students to streets protesting against the laxity of the education board.

Around 28 lakh students have been affected by the paper leaks.
