Women Asia Cup: India Up With The 2nd Successive Win Against Thailand

Indian Women’s cricket team defeated Thailand by 66 runs in the Asia Cup T20 tournament. Harmanpreet Kaur delivered a powerful all-round performance. This was the second successive win by the team after defeating Malaysia in the first game.

Batting first the Indian team put 132 runs on the board with a loss of 4 wickets in the designated 20 over. the top order playing their role well with Mona Meshram’s 45- ball 32. Harmanpreet played an unbeaten knock of 27 runs off just 17 balls which took India to a defendable total of 132. Smriti Mahanada continued her fine form for a 22-ball 29 which included one four and couple of sixes.

In reply, Thailand just managed to get 66 runs in 20 over after the loss of 8 wickets, in which Nattaya Boochatham was the top scorer who scored 40-ball 21 but it was not enough to take the team towards the win.

Harmanpreet after a brilliant performance from the bat after which she bowls well and took three wickets off her spin giving a mere 11 runs in her 3 over spell. Deepti Sharma also picked up a couple of wickets in her four overs, which went for a mere 16 runs.

India will take on Bangladesh in the third match of the tournament on Wednesday.
