Indian skipper Virat Kohli has maintained a stellar form throughout historic 6-match ODI series against South Africa, which India won by 5-1. Despite losing the test series by 2-1, the batsman stood strong throughout the series and motivated the entire team.

However, the player himself gained motivation from his better-half Anushka Sharma. In the post-match press conference after scoring an unbeaten 129 off 96 balls in India's eight-wicket win in the final match of series, skipper Kohli attributed his victory to wife.

"People who are close to me deserve a lot of credit. My wife has kept me going throughout the tour. I am grateful for that. Obviously, you want to lead from the front, and that's a wonderful feeling," Kohli said.

The captain broke many records during the ODI series including scoring an astonishing 558 runs and has many more dreams to accomplish ahead. At the age of 29, the player wants each and every day of his international cricket career count.

"I have got eight or nine years left in my career and I want to make the most of every day. It's a blessing that I am healthy and getting to captain my country," Kohli said.

Unlike the last game, Virat was in full form for the Friday's match which he felt was a blessing in disguise. "It was a day where I felt really good. Last game, I was not in the right kind of mindset. This is a beautiful place to bat under lights," he said.

Captain Kohli was extremely proud of his spinners and openers as well but is looking forward to play the 3-match T20 series starting Sunday with equal fervour. "We are looking forward to the T20s. The tour is not over yet," he concluded.
