#SRHvKKR Rashid Khan Powers Sunrisers Hyderabad Into The Finals Of Vivo IPL 2018

An all-round performance from Rashid Khan powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to defeat Kolkata Knight Riders and enter the finals of Vivo IPL 2018.

SRH came out to bat first and set a target of 175 runs for KKR in the second qualifier of IPL played at the Eden Gardens on Friday. KKR came short of the target and were able to score just 161 runs at the end of 20 overs.

Rashid Khan was the man who demolished the Knight Riders chances of entering the finals of the Indian Premier League with his unbeaten 34 runs off 10 balls and 3 wickets off 4 overs. Besides, he took two catches and was instrumental in an important run-out.

When Rashid came out to bat SRH were struggling at 124 runs for 5 wickets at the end of 16.5 overs. With four sixes and two boundaries, Khan was able to score 34 runs in just 10 balls propelling his team to a modest tally of 174 runs.

Losing the wicket of Sunil Narine (26 runs off 13 balls), KKR were cruising towards the target with 67 runs on board at the end of six overs. Rashid engineered Nitish Rana’s run out with KKR at 87/2 and then clean bowled Robin Uthappa an over later. Skipper Dinesh Karthik fell to Shakib al Hasan’s ball. Rashid then removed CA Lynn to an LBW appeal and followed up with Russel’s wicket.

Khan took two catches, dismissing Shivam Mavi and Shubham Gill and was judged the Man of the Match. He dedicated his ‘Man of the Match’ award to the victims of Nangarhar attack in Afghanistan.

While Rashid earned praises from the entire cricketing world, the most important was from the President of Afghanistan who tweeted, “Afghans take absolute pride in our hero, Rashid Khan. I am also thankful to our Indian friends for giving our players a platform to show their skills. Rashid reminds us what’s best about Afg. He remains an asset to the cricketing world. No we are not giving him away @narendramodi."

Sachin Tendulkar judged him the best spinner in the world.
