New Zealand's Amelia Becomes Youngest Cricketer To Score Double Ton

New records are created and broken everyday in the game of cricket. New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr made history with a double century against Ireland. Amelia smashed an unbeaten knock of 232 runs in just 145 balls. 17-year-old Amelia is the youngest cricketer scoring double century and second women cricketer after Belinda Clarke to score a double century.

The opener hit 31 fours and 2 sixes in the innings that took her side to 440 for the loss of 3 wickets, their third successive 400-plus score against Ireland.

Kerr was not done ; she gave the greatest individual performance in the ODI history by taking 5 wickets in her spell at the cost of just 17 runs.

Ireland were bowled out for 135 as New Zealand registered a 305-run victory.

In women's cricket, Belinda Clark and Kerr have scored a double century in ODIs, while 5 men have scored a double century. List of men with double ton includes Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, Martin Guptill and Chris Gayle. Rohit Sharma has scored double century in most three ODIs. Rohit Sharma's 264 runs against Sri Lanka which he scored in KOlkata in 2014, is the highest ever score in ODIs by any player.
