Kolkata Knight Riders Bowler Mitchell Starc Ruled Out Of IPL 2018 Due To Leg Fracture

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has been ruled out of the upcoming fourth test against South Africa and Indian Premier League (IPL) after suffering a tibial bone fracture as reported by media on Friday.

Starc was replaced for the final Test against South Africa by Chadd Sayers and will fly home after the series for further injury investigation and assessment.

Starc is the third Australian in as many days to be ruled out of the tournament after the BCCI banned Steve Smith and David Warner.

On the match eve, Starc bowled out in the middle to Australia’s new Test squad members with team physiotherapist David Beakley watching on.

Bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a record Rs 9.4 crore at the IPL auction in January, the left-armer will sadly miss the tournament. His bad luck with the cash-rich league continues, as he will be absent from the tournament for the third year in a row.

In fact, Starc has played just three T20s since the end of the 2015 IPL: one match against England in August 2015 and two matches against Sri Lanka 13 months later.
