Indian Skipper Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri addressed the media on the eve of the team's departure for the England Tour that begins on July 3. Kohli confirmed that he is 100% fit and ready to go. He added that he went through a Yo-Yo Test with Mahendra Singh Dhoni and other teammates and cleared it.

The 29-year-old had suffered a neck injury during the latest season of IPL due to which he was ruled out from participating in the county cricket.

When a reporter asked him whether missing county stint will affect his preparation, Kohli replied that it has been four years since India played a test in England so he wanted to observe the conditions of the pitch but fitness matters more.

The skipper said “I wanted to be 100% fit for the tour and wanted to go there fresh. This thing that happened was the best thing…although not intended but happened in the best way”

The captain looked confident and claims to give a hard competition to the host. he said  "We are going to England to win, not to take a stroll on the road and have coffee. It'll be serious business once we step onto  the field"
