A statement from NITI Aayog reads, “As part of its larger mandate to promote digital payments across the country, the NITI Aayog has been successfully driving the digital payments campaign in India, wherein it collaborates with youth leaders and public figures to promote the cashless payment systems across the country.”
BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Digi Dhan Mela in December 2016, weeks after demonetisation in order to make digital payments easier.
The Women Entrepreneurship Platform was launched by NITI Aayog on International Women’s Day with an aim to provide a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem where women do not face any gender-based barriers. The platform aspires to substantially increase the number of women entrepreneurs who will create and empower a dynamic New India.
