Sensex Plunges To 37,677, Nifty Down By 120.40 Points

After hitting a record high with above 38,000 points at the Bombay Stock exchange, it came down to 37,738.86 with a loss of 338.72 points while the Nifty came down with 11,404, down by 111 points or 0.87 per cent points on Monday.

At the interbank exchange, the Sensex traded at 37,677.34, down by 428.70 points and the Nifty traded at 11,392.80 points, down by 120.40 points in the morning hours of the trade.

The top five losers at the BSE were Kwality Limited, Kei Industries Limited, Manappuram Finance Limited, Berger Paints India Limited and IL&FS transportation networks Ltd.

On the other hand, the top gainers at the BSE were Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd, Suzlon Energy limited, Inox wind ltd, Himadri speciality chemical Ltd and Avanti feeds Ltd.

The petroleum Industry reported an immense growth at the NSE with four among the top five gainers companies.

The top gainers at the NSE were Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Wipro Limited, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Tech Mahindra Limited.T he top losers at the NSE were Bajaj Finance Limited, Titan Company Limited, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finserv Limited and NTPC Limited.

Previously on August 20, the intra-day high of the Sensex was 38,221.57 and that of the Nifty was 11,538.95.
