Sensex Hits Record High At 37,779 Points, Nifty Touches 11,411 Points

With a 0.60 percent rise, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex hit a record high on Monday at 37,779 points and Nifty 50 hit a fresh high at 11,411 points.

At around 11:32 AM, the Sensex traded at 37,773.94, up by 217.78 points and the Nifty50 traded at 11,410.90, up by 50.10 points with a 0.44 percent rise.

Trident Ltd, IDFC Ltd, RattanIndia Power Ltd, Time Technoplast Ltd and ICRA Ltd emerged as top gainers on BSE.

While Laurus Labs Ltd, Suzlon Energy Ltd, Shipping Corporation of India Ltd, Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd, and PI Industries Ltd were among top losers.

Banking sector recorded a strong growth on NSE as Axis Bank Ltd, ICICI Bank Ltd and State Bank of India were among the top gainers.

The top losers on NSE were Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd, Lupin Ltd and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.

HDFC AMC made a strong debut on BSE and NSE with around 65 percent surge from the issue price.

The shares of the Asset management company rose to Rs 1832 as compared to the issue price of Rs 1100.

Previously, the record high was recorded on July 30 when Sensex touched 37,491.39 while the Nifty50 traded at 11,296.65.
