Sensex Above 37,000, Nifty Above 11000: Record High For Second Day

After a record high on Thursday, BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) Sensex touched above 37,000 points with 0.81 percent rise on Friday morning.

Nifty with a record high touched 11, 239 with 0.63 percent rise.

With the gain of 262 points, the Sensex traded at 37262 at around 11:51 AM, whereas Nifty traded at 11239.

The record high for intra-day recorded at 11,171.55 points on January 29.

Top gainers on BSE were Biocon Ltd, Motilal Oswal financial services ltd, IL&FS transportation networks ltd, tata steel ltd and Navin fluorine international limited.

SRG Securities Finance Ltd, R&B Denims Ltd, Filatex Fashions Ltd, Bemco hydraulics ltd and seasons textiles ltd were among the top losers on the BSE.

NSE's (National Stock Exchange) top gainers were ITC, Hindalco, Tata Motors, Hero Moto Corp, and Bajaj Auto.

Whereas the top losers on NSE were Drreddy, Grasim, Adani ports, Yes Bank and Hindunilvr.

On Thursday, the strong gains in the market were reported in the capital goods, FMCG, realty, banking, PSU, auto, healthcare, infrastructure, consumer durables and oil and gas stocks that helped to achieve the milestone for the first time in the history.

The top gainers on Thursday were SBI up by 4.27 percent, Bharti Airtel up by 1.49 percent, ICICI Bank up by 1.44 percent, Tata Motors up by 1.11 percent, and ITC up by 0.89 percent.

While Asian Paints, Hero Moto Corp, Wipro and Infosys were among top losers on Thursday.

Previously, Sensex on July 12 touched 36,688.05 points, tracking high gains in the Asian market.
