On Centre Request, 7 States Govt Reduces Petrol & Diesel Prices By Additional Rs 2.50 Per Litre

After the Central government decision to cut petrol and diesel prices by Rs 2.50 per litre, seven states government have reduced petrol and diesel price with additional Rs 2.50 per litre on Thursday, making it Rs 5 per litre decline in a single day with immediate effect.

Earlier in the day, Finance Minister while announcing a decline in petrol and diesel price has urged state governments to reduce fuel prices to ease the burden.

People have been criticizing the central government for not taking any step to reduce petrol and diesel price as fuel prices across the country are on peak level.

Reciprocating positively to Finance Minister order, Madhya Pradesh government, Uttar Pradesh government, Jharkhand Government, Tripura Government, Haryana government and government of Assam have reduced petrol and diesel price by Rs 2.50 per litre.

Commenting on the decision of reducing petrol and diesel prices Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, "This would give a net effect to the people in Maharashtra of a reduced price of Rs 5. I think this is a great relief to the people. Central government and state government are working together to give more and more relief to the people Maharashtra." 

On the other hand, Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy said, "Already we had cut the price by Rs 2 last month."
