Mukesh Ambani Launches JioGigaFiber And JioPhone 2 At RIL AGM

Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani while addressing the shareholders of the company’s at 41st Annual General Meeting on Wednesday in Mumbai launched broadband and fixed line service JioGigafiber and Jio Phone 2.

JioGigafiber registration will start from 15th August onwards and Jio Phone 2 has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 2,999 with inbuilt applications YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp and lot more.


JioGigafiber will provide wall-to-wall Wi-Fi coverage with breathtaking speed of Gbps as Isha Ambani said, "Gone are the days of Mbps, now it will be about Gbps."


At the launch, Mukesh Ambani said, “We will now extend fiber connectivity to homes, merchants, small and medium enterprises and large enterprises simultaneously across 1,100 cities to offer the most advanced fiber-based broadband connectivity solutions.”

JioGigafiber in homes will provide ultra high-definition entertainment on large screen TVs, Multi-party video conferencing from your living room, Voice-activated virtual assistants, Virtual reality gaming, digital shopping, and immersive experiences.

Merchants and small businesses will be able to fixed-line broadband JioGigafiber as combined fixed-line connectivity with the agility and customer obsession of a small owner-driven business and will empower them to compete on level terms with larger businesses.

Large enterprises will use fixed-line broadband to compete in the global marketplace using digital tools and techniques that are powering the fourth industrial revolution.

"Jio has enabled Reliance to strategically reinvent itself as a Technology Platform Company. Digital platforms have become the new-age factories and service providers," Ambani said.
