Mukesh Ambani, Azim Premji, Lakshmi Mittal Top List Of Forbes India Billionaires 2018

Forbes India business magazine on Thursday has released the list of top 100 billionaires in India, and yet again for the 11th consecutive year, Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director hold the number 1 spot followed by Wipro Chairman Azim Premji and Arcelor Mittal chairman Lakshmi Mittal on the second and third spot.

Ambani topped the list with 47.3 billion of net worth whereas Premji and Mittal, two another giant in the world of business have attained the positions with $21 billion and $18.3 billion of net worth.

Apart from the three, four siblings Srichand, Gopichand, Prakash and Ashok who controls the multinational conglomerate the Hinduja Group got their names registered on the fourth spot with $18 billion of net worth.

Pallonji Mistry owner of Shapoorji Pallonji Group has attained 5th position with $15.7 billion of net worth, HCL Technologies owner Shiv Nadar has attained 6th position with $14.6 billion of net worth, Godrej family has attained 7th spot with $14 billion of net worth, Dilip Shanghvi owner of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries has attained 8th spot with $12.6 billion of net worth, Aditya Birla Group owner Kumar Birla has attained the 9th spot with $12.5 billion of net worth and Gautam Adani owner of Adani Ports & SEZ has attained 10th spot with $11.9 billion of net worth.

Anil Ambani brother of Mukesh Ambani and owner of Reliance Communications has attained the 68th position with $2.44 billion of net worth in the list of top 100 Indian billionaires. 

In March 2014 Mukesh Ambani’s net worth was $18.6 billion but after the introduction of Reliance Jio 4G phone services, Ambani has revolutionized the telecom sector in India and grab the market with 215 million customers.

Reliance Industries was founded in 1966 as a small textile manufacturer by Dhirubhai Ambani, father of Ambani’s brother.

India has a third largest group of billionaires after the US and China, with at least 121 billionaires.
