Jet Airways: Now Just 1 Check-In Baggage Allowed On Domestic Flights

Jet Airways, on Friday, announced that they will now allow only one check-in baggage in the domestic flights for passengers of the economy class for free. The check-in baggage should not exceed the weight of 15kgs.

While a premiere or business class passenger will be allowed two free check-in bags, each not more than 15kg. Jet Airways is the first airline in India to introduce restrictions on the number of check-in bags.

While speaking to the media a jet official said, “Effective June 15, 2018, we are introducing a new check-in baggage concept on domestic flights. Guests who have made bookings on or after June 15, 2018, for travel on or after July 15, 2018, will be entitled to a free baggage allowance of only one piece, not exceeding 15 kg for travel in the economy class and two pieces, a total of 30 kg, for travel in Première or business class.

Guests whose bookings are on or after June 15, 2018, for travel on or before July 14, 2018, will be permitted to a free baggage allowance by weight of 15 kg for travel in the economy class and 30 kg for travel in Première class.”

The official added that on a Jet Boeing 737-800 with 156 economy and 12 premiere seats, limiting economy passengers to one check-in bag and others to two could mean close to 70 bags less to load.
