Apart from Maharashtra, petrol and diesel prices across other metropolitan cities continue to rose as in national capital New Delhi price of petrol was at Rs 80.87 per litre and the price of diesel was at Rs 72.97 per litre.

The ruling government BJP has termed the hike in petrol and diesel prices across the country as a 'momentary difficulty' owing to an international crisis.

Previously, launching a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, BJP ally in Maharashtra Shiv Sena put posters across Mumbai inked with rising cooking gas prices, petrol prices and diesel prices on Saturday.

The posters gained attention as Shiv Sena taking a dig at Modi government used a slogan of ‘Yehi hai acche din’ and compared previous fuel prices.
