Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced the recall of three scooters models, Aviator, Activa 125 and Grazia for testing. The recall will cover units manufactured between 7 February 2018 to 16 March 2018, the company said in a statement.

The company identified a suspected quality issue of hardness in Bolt flange 10X42 mounted in the front fork of 56,194 units of these models and thus, the two-wheeler manufacturer confirmed that the faulty part, if required, will be replaced free of cost on the recall vehicles.

“Honda, as a precautionary measure, will voluntarily inspect three scooter models, the company will replace the suspected part, if required, on free of cost basis irrespective to the affected vehicles warranty status,” said Honda.

Honda through its dealers will directly notify affected customers via call or e-mail or SMS for inspection of their vehicle. The company will be contacting all the affected buyers to schedule a session at their workshop. Once the website is updated with the automatic detector, buyers will be able to enter their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to check manually.

Honda told in the campaign section on its website that Activa 4G and 5G will not be affected by this recall because both the scooters run on separate suspension setup.
