As Petrol And Diesel Prices Soar, Karnataka Govt Reduces By Rs 2 Per Litre

While fuel prices are touching sky high on a daily basis across the country, the Karnataka government on Monday has decided to cut down the petrol and diesel prices by Rs 2 per litre in the state.

Announcing the price cut, Karnataka government tweeted, "Our government has decided to reduce the cess on Petrol and diesel. The fuel price will be decreased by two rupees per litre."

Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy was quoted by NDTV as saying, "Everyday fuel prices are increasing, people of Karnataka felt that the state government can reduce the prices of fuel by reducing the taxes, I want to announce from Kalburgi that the coalition government has decided to cut down the taxes for petrol and diesel minimum by Rs.2."

"I hope this step taken by our coalition government will give some relief to the people of Karnataka," he added.

With the reduction in petrol and diesel prices in the state, Karnataka has joined Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and West Bengal as they have also slashed the fuel prices in recent days.

Petrol and Diesel selling at a price of Rs 84.74 per litre and Rs 76.16 per litre in Banglore. With the hike in petrol and diesel prices, Petrol is selling at Rs 82.06/litre, increased by Rs 0.15/litre and diesel at Rs 73.78/litre, increased by Rs 0.6/litre in Delhi.

In Maharashtra crossed Rs. 90 per litre in at least 11 towns.
