Investors Losing Money As Sensex Plunges To 36,841, Nifty Down By 91.25 Points

A week ago the Indian stock market was riding on growth with touching above 38,000 points at the Bombay Stock exchange, but from the last four days, a number of investors have been losing money at BSE and NSE.

With trading at 36,841.60 points, the BSE Sensex has reported a continuous fifth day low while nifty trading at 11,143.10 points is down by 91.25 points from the previous close.

On Friday the BSE Sensex had opened at 37,278.89 points, provisionally closed at 36,841.60 points, lower 279.62 points or 0.75 per cent from the previous close of 37,121.22 points.

Hitting a 52-week low, as many as 76 stocks have reported a loss, which includes stocks of Jaiprakash Associates, Reliance Nippon, Force Motors, IL&FS Transport Networks, Jet Airways, IRB infrastructure, Repco Home Finance, JK Tyre, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, and HSIL.

These companies stocks have been plunged by 10-20 per cent.

According to reports, at least Rs 5, 66, 187 crores have been lost by the investors till Friday. The market capitalisation value of BSE listed companies fell by Rs 2,02,433.26 crore on Friday.

Previously on August 20, the intra-day high of the Sensex was 38,221.57 and that of the Nifty was 11,538.95.
