India's 3rd largest two-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company has launched its flagship motorbike TVS Apache RR 310 in India with the ex-showroom price of Rs 2.05 lakh. The vehicle marks the official entry of motor company into the super-premium bike segment.

Based on the concept of TVS Akula as showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, the motorcycle was reportedly in development for the past two years. The entry-level sportbike is designed to serve multiple purposes for the commuters including touring and occasional tracking.

The motorbike is the product of TVS and BMW Motorrad collaboration which served the bike's solid foundation, superior performance and riding dynamics. The eye-catching design adds to the overall powerful looks of Apache RR 310.

Prospective customers will be able to book the motorcycle by the end of December with deliveries taking place in early months of 2018. Powered by a four-stroke, four-valve, single-cylinder, reverse-inclined 312 cc engine, the bike makes 33.5 bhp at 9700 rpm and 27.3 Nm of peak torque at 7700 rpm.

Due to engine's lesser distance with the front wheel, the reverse inclined engine has helped in centralizing the bike's mass. The steel trellis frame uses a split chassis design ensuring higher dynamic stiffness and better control and handling.

The fully-digital instrument panel displaying multiple information along with LED projector headlamps, taillight and turn signals are enhancing the outlook. The motorbike features high-quality Switchgear and hazards light.

TVS claims that the decades-long racing experience of TVS Racing has been used to develop the Apache RR 310 while the pilot tests have been conducted with real users whose feedback on the development and performance of bike were satisfying.

In the domestic market, the motorcycle will compete with Mahindra Mojo, Bajaj Dominar, KTM 390 Duke, KTM RC 390 and the Benelli 302 R. The Apache RR 310 will be available in two shades - red and matte black.
