First Look At Auto Expo: New Maruti Suzuki Swift To Be Launched In February 2018

One of India's leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the new third-generation Swift in India.The new generation Swift gets a completely new styling and looks more upmarket than its old version which is based on the all-new HEARTECT platform. Expectedly, the new-gen Swift could be lighter and agiler.

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift will be launched at the Auto Expo 2018 with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) which will be available in both petrol and diesel trims. While the updated avatar of the car is pretty close to the previous version.

Looking at the interior of the car, the updated interior is much sporty than the current version. The dashboard is minimalistic, with a new upmarket steering wheel and sporty two-pod instrument cluster. It is expected that the car will be fully-loaded with equipment such as a touch screen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Mirror Link capability and paddle-shifters.

The petrol version is powered by the 1.2-litre K-series engine which delivers 83PS at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 113Nm at 4,200rpm while diesel variant is the successful Fiat's 1.3-litre Multijet engine that produces 190Nm of torque at just 2,000rpm while offering a power output of 75PS at 4,000rpm.

The new Swift will be available in 12 variant options, starting with the LXi/LDi trims while the top-end trims will be ZXi/ZDi which will consist various new additional features. The expected price of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift could be in between 5 to 8 Lakh.

After opening bookings for the new model on Thursday, the company has now handed over its official brochures to the advertising agencies and has updated its website as well. So, let's see what the updated version is going to offer.
