Auto Expo 2018: 8 Most-Anticipated Cars To Make Their First Appearance

The much-awaited Auto Expo 2018 will be held from 9th February- 14th February.

Upcoming cars and bikes will pack the halls of the Auto Expo Mart in Greater Noida on February 9th. Despite some manufacturers giving the Expo a miss, there will be plenty of action as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Honda, Mahindra & Renault will surely put their best foot forward. Auto Expo 2018 promises to be a spectacular showcase of upcoming cars and will surely be a sight to behold. 

Here are the 8 Most-Anticipated Cars to look forward to: 

Maruti Swift

The Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 will be launched at the Auto Expo with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) which will be available in both petrol and diesel trims. The all new Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 4.78 Lakh – Rs 8 Lakh. In this price segment, it will directly compete with the existing hatchbacks like Hyundai i20, Ford Figo.

Hyundai Creta Facelift

The Creta is quite popular and gets good numbers for Hyundai on the sales chart. To keep the compact SUV fresh in the market, Hyundai will launch the facelifted version of the car next year and will showcase the same at the Auto Expo. The new Creta will get a new grille, a new front and rear bumper and plastic cladding all around. The changes make the facelifted Creta look bolder. The new Hyundai Creta will sport cosmetic as well as feature updates while the engine options are expected to remain untouched. Codenamed as ix25 facelift, the facelifted version of Creta is already on sale in the Chinese market by H2, 2017.

Honda Civic

After more than 3 years, the Civic is coming back to India. In its 10th generation, the sedan will be re-launched in India next year but will first be showcased at the Auto Expo as a clear indicator of Honda’s intent. For the first time ever, Honda will sell the Civic with a 1.6 litre all-aluminium turbo diesel engine with 120 Bhp-300 Nm on tap. This engine will be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Civic is also expected to get a 1.8-litre petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. Prices could start from over Rs. 15 lakhs.

Mahindra S201 (SsangYong Tivoli Based SUV)

Mahindra is expected to showcase the production-ready version of its upcoming small SUV based on the SsangYong Tivoli. Known by its S201 codename, the upcoming Mahindra SUV will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta. Powering the SUV will be all new engines Mahindra has developed in association with sister concern SsangYong. Expect the styling of the SUV to be largely similar to the Tivoli with signature Mahindra design touches.

New Hyundai Sonata

The latest generation Sonata is likely to be in attendance at the 2018 Auto Expo in Delhi. It will feature a hybrid power and will go on to rival the likes of Honda Accord Hybrid and Toyota Camry Hybrid. Expect prices to start around Rs. 30 lakh.

Mahindra XUV 700 (New SsangYong Rexton)

Next on our list of Mahindra Cars at Auto Expo 2018 is the replacement for the Rexton. SsangYong recently unveiled the all-new Rexton, which will come to India as the Mahindra XUV 700. While the Mahindra XUV 700 launch is expected to take place by April 2018, the SUV will be present at Mahindra’s pavilion at the 2018 Auto Expo.

Renault Koleos

The Koleos SUV might have turned out to be a market dud, but Renault may not have given up on it just yet. The 2017 model looks much better than the one that was on sale in India. One of the attendees expected at Auto Expo 2018, the new Koleos SUV, could be launched in India in the first half of 2018.

New Renault Grand Duster

The new generation Duster is expected to make its international debut in the second half of 2017. According to reports, the new model will be available in two versions – 5 seats and 7 seats. The latter is being referred to as the Grand Duster. The new Duster is expected to be showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in India.
