As the demand for Automatic transmission vehicles continues to grow, Tata Motors has launched automatic versions of the Tigor sedan or should we say “styleback”. The car comes with two higher-spec trims – the XTA and the XZA – priced at Rs 5.75 lakh and Rs 6.22 lakh, respectively (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The new AMT cars will be on sale across the country in over 600 Tata motors outlets as of Thursday.

The car comes with five-speed AMT gearbox which is only available in the petrol Revotron engine that displaces 1.2 litres and puts out 85hp and 114Nm of peak torque. The XTA comes with the 14-inch steel wheels, four speakers with the infotainment system that comes with navigation and Bluetooth connectivity for smart phones, steering mounted audio controls, rear parking sensors, two airbags and ABS with EBD.

The top-spec XZA comes with a 5.0-inch touch screen infotainment with four speakers and two tweeters, a reversing camera, automatic climate control and 15-inch alloy wheels.

The Tigor AMT rivals the likes of the Maruti Dzire petrol AMT (starting at Rs 6.73 lakh), Ford Aspire automatic (Rs 8.34 lakh) and Honda Amaze CVT (starting at Rs 7.37 lakh) in the very competitive compact sedan segment (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
