2017 Ford Ecosport SUV Launched In India At Rs 7.31 Lakh

American automaker Ford India has finally launched its new 2017 EcoSport compact SUV in India. The prices starts at Rs 7.31 lakh for the base Ambiente trim, going up to Rs 10.99 lakh for the top-spec Titanium+ variant (all prices ex-showroom, India).

The new model is about Rs 10,000 dearer than the pre-facelift EcoSport which was priced between Rs 7.21 lakh and Rs 10.92 lakh. Ford dealerships across the country had already started accepting bookings of the new SUV.
In terms of design, the car gets a new, larger grille which is inspired by Ford's global SUV line up. The new EcoSport also gets projector headlamps with Led daytime running lights, new 17-inch alloy wheels and new exterior colour options including a new shade of blue,orange and red.

The interior of refreshed EcoSport gets a large 8-inch, floating touch screen and Ford's latest SYNC 3 infotainment system on all variants, except for the base trim. It supports most of the modern connectivity options including Bluetooth, USB and AUX along with the smarter connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The cabin also features new seat upholstery, audio controls mounted on the three-spoke steering wheel and automatic climate control.

Ford has provided a decent level of kit across the range including two airbags at the front and ABS with EBD. The petrol-automatic model also features paddle shifters, hill start assist, ESC and traction control, while the top-spec Titanium+ trim gets side and curtain airbags along with Isofix child-seat mounts at the rear.

Propelling the new Ford Ecosport is the all-new naturally aspirated 1.5-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine. The new motor produces 123hp at 6,500rpm and 150Nm at 4,500rpm, and can be mated to either a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic.




The SUV also available with the 1.5-litre diesel which remains untouched along with its five-speed manual gearbox. It makes 100PS of power and 205Nm of torque, and claims to return a fuel economy of 23kmpl.

The 2017 Ford Ecosport will rivals the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza,Honda BR-V and the Tata Nexon in India
