A U.S. Air Force F-16 warplane crashed on Tuesday during takeoff from Bagram airfield, located north of Kabul, Afghanistan.
According to reports, the accident occurred at around 8.30pm (1630 GMT), the cause of the accident is still not known.
Reports claim, the pilot ejected safely and was recovered by coalition forces.
Bagram airfield is the U.S. military's main base of operations in Afghanistan.
Coalition forces here are now securing the crash site and an investigation is underway.
