The Prime Minister of India, in his visit to Israel, seems to have displeased another one of his ally, Palestine.

Palestinian Authority, Deputy Foreign Minister Tyseer Jaradat in an interview told the CNN, “We would prefer it if the prime minister of an important country, like India, who is visiting the region, should also visit Palestine when he visits Israel.”

The Palestinian’s complaint came in as the Indian Prime Minister concluded his three-day visit to Israel.

The CNN report said that the Palestinian nation is upset with Modi. It further added that Palestine’s frustration with India started over a year ago when India abstained from a UN Human Rights Council vote. India’s stand shocked the Palestinians as India has been a key supporter of the Palestinian political movement.

In response, the Indian Ambassador to Israel, Pavan Kapoor, in an interview with the Times of Israel said, “We will continue to work with the Palestinians because we do support their cause. But at the same time, we want to keep our relations with Israel independent of their relationship with Palestine.”

The Palestinian Deputy Foreign Minister also asserted that India has decided to enhance its cooperative relationship with Israel at the expense of the Palestine.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for a state dinner in New Delhi. The Prime Minister had reaffirmed India’s commitment to further cooperation among the two countries.
