Days before Prince Harry and his lady love's royal wedding on May 19, 2018, at Windsor Castle, Meghan Markle's father Thomas Markle has refused to attend the nuptials. The Kensington Palace has earlier confirmed that Thomas will walk Meghan down the aisle.

Reportedly, Thomas has suffered from a heart attack, a week ago but has got himself discharged from the hospital to attend the royal wedding. However, he claimed on Monday night that he is experiencing more chest pains due to which he will be getting re-admitted.

His abrupt backing off from his daughter's wedding is suggestively in wake of his admission of staging paparazzi photos of himself 'getting ready' for the big event—doing things like getting a suit tailored and reading a book on British landmarks.

Meghan's half-sister Samantha Markle has taken full responsibility for influencing her father's decision to stage photographs. Although, she defended her father from the accusation claiming that he was paid for the pictures stating, "There’s a lot of scrutiny that it was money motivated, it was not."

The bride-to-be is devastated with her father's decision of opting out from her wedding. Kensington Palace issued a statement request space and privacy for the hurt Meghan Markle. It read as, "This is a deeply personal moment for Ms Markle in the days before her wedding."

"She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr Markle in this difficult situation," the statement further added. Meghan's step-siblings, Samantha and Thomas Jr. (who warned Prince Harry against marrying Meghan in an open letter) will also not be a part of the wedding.
