What comes as a first action in the Panama Papers case, two years after it first surfaced in the news, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been disqualified from his for life by Pakistani Supreme Court on Friday.

The disqualification comes after an investigative panel found his family's wealth even far above their earnings in the Panama Papers case. The Supreme Court, hearing the case, found the Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Nawaz Sharif guilty in the corruption case.

The Attorney General said that the bench disqualified the Prime Minister for life. This means that the Prime Minister cannot hold or even contest for the position of Prime Minister.

This case will keep the former Prime Minister busy for at least a month, as the top court has said it will announce its verdict on the case within 30 days.

The Country, however, has a different path to pursue. The ruling party in PML (N), which is in majority in the Pakistani Parliament, is now supposed to decide on the new Prime Minister after appointing an interim Prime Minister for the time being.
